The Apex Tool and Cutter Company   Railroad Holders and Tools   Holders are properly designed to give ample support to the tools. The serrations on the bottom of the tool mate with the serrations on the seat of the holder. The tool slides in from one side and is locked by the clamping plate. A shoulder on the plate allows the tool to rest against it which prevents any vibration. The tool can be moved forward to allow for grinding the contour if necessary. Holders are made of forged nickel chrome alloy steel, hardened, and tempered for toughness and durability. Tool bits are forged of special selected High Speed Steel or Cobalt High Speed Steel. Actual tests have proven that tool life is greatly multiplied through grain refinement and increased density gained in drop forging.   FULL CONTOUR HOLDERS AND TOOLS FULL CONTOUR Holders and Tools shown on this page are standard and are supplied with dimensions shown. They are made for standard AAR wheel contour with 1" deep flange and 1 in 20" tread. Carried in stock, ready for immediate delivery. Holders are supplied complete with wrench. Tools are furnished carefully heat treated and finished ground ready for use. Tools can be furnished with contours necessary to meet your specifications.
